Women's Volleyball Signs Grace Morton and Cassady Hymes for 2018-19 Season – Nyack College Athletics


Nyack, NY – Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Raquel Shaffer is pleased to announce the addition of Grace Morton and Cassady Hymes to the Nyack College Volleyball team for the 2018-2019 season.


Grace Morton of Bear, DE, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Warriors at Nyack College for the 2018-2019 season. The 5’3″ defensive specialist/libero from Caravel Academy started playing volleyball at Delaware Juniors (13-14) and Upward Stars (14-17).

Grace names her volleyball coach Nikki Parkinson as a major influence in her life, because she taught her how to be a strong independent woman that is always seeking to please others and God. She comes to Nyack with the expectation of strengthening her relationship with God, building lifelong relationships, and having an unfortgettable volleyball experience. She names former volleyball standoiut Misty May Traenor as her favorite athlete and 1 Timothy 4:12 as her favorite Bible verse. 

Cassidy Hymes of Henderson, NV, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Warriors at Nyack College for the 2018-2019 season. The 5’11” middle hitter/outside hitter/right side started playing volleyball at Desert Elite (13-15), Vegas Aces (15-16), and Vegas Velocity (16-17), while also competing for her High School Green Valley HS. In her junior year the team placed 7th in state and was runner-up regional champs. 

Cassidy comes to Nyack with the expectation to grow in her relationship with God and to contribute to a championship volleyball team, while she is planning to major in Business Administration. She names Mexican cuisine as her favorite meals and Psalm 118:6 as her favorite Bible verse.
