VFW donates $4K to Bantam hockey program – Detroit Lakes Tribune

The Detroit Lakes Veterans of Foreign Wars recently donated $4,000 to the Detroit Lakes hockey program.

The donation was used for new jerseys for the players.

The Detroit Lakes Hockey Association designed the jersey to show VFW sponsorship.

“We are very thankful for the donation to our program,” DL Bantam A head coach Jim Kennedy said. “We play day in and day out with the effort to represent, not only the Detroit Lakes Youth Hockey Association, but the VFW and the sacrifices they have made on behalf of our country.”

The Bantam A team will be hosting the 9th District VFW tournament in Detroit Lakes February 21-23.

The winner of the District tournament will attend the 65th Annual VFW Bantam A State tournament in Thief River Falls March 20-22.
