Tennis courts get facelift: time to pick up a racket – Valley Roadrunner

The work is almost done and now it’s time for you to pick up a tennis racket, hit some balls, improve your health, and make some new friends.  Did you know that tennis is known as a lifelong sport?  Well it is and once you start playing tennis on a regular basis you will feel better and look better too.

Drop by the courts any morning and you will find a variety of groups from 30 to 70 plus years  … starting their day with (love-love), tennis begins with love  — they’ll be laughing, hitting balls, and thoroughly enjoying their day.  This could be you!

The tennis courts at Adams Park are being resurfaced … and the Valley Center Tennis Club and the Valley Center Parks and Rec District are planning additional improvements too.  This is a great time to join the Valley Center Tennis Club and make some “sporty” friends.

The club provides league play, social mixers, and weekly organized tennis.  A family membership cost $95.00 a year!  This is a great value … you know you are worth it.  For players who want to join a USTA league, fall leagues are forming now.  There is competition for all ages at a variety of levels from 4.5 to 3.5.  Visit the Club website at www.valleycentertennis.club or, on facebook.com/valleycentertennisclub for more information. By the way, we have a fantastic tennis coach in Valley Center. Coach Seth Leichtfuss gets kids and adults started with excellent basics.  And, if you want to progress to stardom … Seth will work with you on that too. Contact Seth by email at: seth@sportquest.com.

The “new” courts will host a lot of tennis this fall season.  The Jags’ high school girls’ tennis program is starting now. You will find the Jags on the courts in the afternoons building their skills and having fun.

The tennis community is growing and with the newly resurfaced courts the enhancements will add to the quality of play.
