PARKVILLE, Mo. – After its perfect 6-0 start to the 2019 season, the Park University men’s volleyball vaulted two spots to No. 3 in the latest NAIA Men’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 10 Poll, announced by the national office on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pirates are one of just four teams from across the country still undefeated on the season, also ranked and undefeated is No. 1 Grand View (Iowa), No. 2 Missouri Baptist and No. 6 Aquinas (Mich.).
Park has won four-straight matches via sweeps and will next take on Graceland on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in Lamoni, Iowa.
Felipe Chagas has had a great start to his 2019 season, as he ranks No. 2 in the NAIA in hitting percentage at .542 and setter Luciano Bucci is the nation’s leader in assists per set at 11.6.
Andrea Maggio leads the team in total kills with 66 and service aces with 13, while Felipe Guirau is second on the team in kills with 61.

Top 10 Highlights (historical information dates back to 2017):
- Hope International (Calif.) makes its way into the top 10 at No. 9. This is only the fourth time that the Royals have been in the top 10.
- No team has been ranked at No. 1 for an entire season. Grand View has the most No. 1-rankings with 12. Missouri Baptist and Park (Mo.) are the only other teams with a No. 1-rank each with three.
- Park holds the longest active streak in the polls with 21-consecutive rankings. Grand View, Lourdes (Ohio) and Ottawa (Kan.) follow with 20-consecutive rankings.
