The first 12 weeks of the NFL season have been extremely profitable if you’ve been listening to SportsLine stat geek R.J. White. White is currently SportsLine’s No. 1 NFL expert and in the top seven percent of the nation’s most prestigious sports handicapping tournament, the Las Vegas SuperContest.
He finished in the top two percent of the SuperContest before too, and anyone who has followed his picks is up big-time.
Now, he’s locked in his picks for Week 13 of the NFL season, and you can only see them over at SportsLine.
This week, he’s all over the Houston Texans (+6.5) on the road against the Tennessee Titans. White knows the Titans have won five of their last six games, but only one of those wins was by more than four points.
While the Titans are supposed to be a beastly rushing team, they’ve only topped 100 yards on the ground twice since the start of October. They’re ranked outside of the top 10 in rushing yards per game.
Meanwhile, the Texans play the run extremely well, ranking ninth in DVOA, and held the Titans under 200 yards of offense in the first meeting between these division rivals.
SportsLine’s simulations say that the Texans’ defense will hold both DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry under 50 yards rushing.
And a shocker: White is picking the Packers to cover +1.5 at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White knows we can’t expect Jameis Winston to look his best in his first game back from an injury that sidelined him for multiple weeks, and he’ll be missing his two best offensive linemen after they were placed on IR this week.
The Packers have a quality run defense (107. ypg allowed), and White expects them to get pressure against the Bucs’ decimated line. On the flip side, Tampa Bay is atrocious on defense, allowing at least 400 yards in every road game, including 516 to the Falcons last week.
White is also calling for a favorite to get absolutely shocked at home.
