At Coughlin, the Crusaders won all three sets and swept their way past Dallas, earning their first win of the season in a 3-0 triumph in WVC boys volleyball.


Coughlin’s Adamis Pena had nine kills, Owen Kostelnick four assists, and Jose Cantoran four digs.

Tunkhannock 3, Berwick 1


At Berwick, Avery Billings tallied 18 kills with 10 blocks, helping Tunkhannock deliver the Bulldogs their first loss of the season.


Paul Binner added 16 assists, 10 kills, six blocks and three aces for Tunkhannock. Trejon Turner had 13 kills.


Berwick’s Zach Evans notched 24 kills. Misael Hernandez recorded 14 digs. Sam Segura spiked a pair of aces with eight service points.

Holy Redeemer 3, North Pocono 0


At Holy Redeemer, Jared Piontkowski (15 kills, four blocks), Nick Prociak (seven kills, four blocks) and George Beck (32 assists, five kills) had standout performances in a Royal win.


Joe Brennan had five kills. Dominic Cirelli added 13 points, four digs and three assists.

Boys Tennis


At Kirby Park, Mark Harrison, Dominic Marchese and Brandon Gebenus each won their singles matches in dominant fashion, leading Holy Redeemer to a 4-1 win against Hazleton Area on Monday in WVC boys tennis.


The doubles team of Matthew Schuler and William Wolfgang provided the Royals with their fourth win, while Hazleton Area’s Sam Schagen/Jaskaran Singh picked up a win in No. 2 doubles.


SINGLES: 1. Mark Harrison (HR) over Kitterick Danzeisen 6-0, 6-0; 2. Dominic Marchese (HR) over Gavin Ashman 6-1, 6-0; 3. Brandon Gebenus (HR) over Ben Sabatos 6-0, 6-0. DOUBLES: 1. Matthew Schuler/William Wolfgang (HR) over Tristan Haraschak/Matt Yanochko 6-1, 6-1; 2. Sam Schagen/Jaskaran Singh (Haz) over Hunter Wesolowski/Kevin Caffrey 7-5, 6-7 (7-2), 7-6 (7-1).


 


Baseball


Tunkhannock’s Nick Reposa went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs scored in a 6-0 Tiger win Sunday against Riverside.


C.J. Wright was the winning pitcher and he tossed a gem, sprinkling only three hits and one walk over seven shutout innings.
