The finishing touches are being laid trackside with performers, including singer Bonnie Anderson, and jockeys, including Jack Hill, ready and raring to go.

“It’s not just about the races, but it’s entertainment and fashion as well,” Anderson says.

The first winner of Australia’s Got Talent is set to perform in the David Jones Fashion Stable on Saturday.

The Melbourne Racing Club kicks off the Spring Racing Carnival tonight with a VIP event on the spectacular QT Rooftop in Melbourne’s CBD.

More than 200 VIP guests are set to attend the invitation-only event, including shoe designer and Karl Stefanovic’s girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough, chefs Teage Ezard, Jarrod Di Blasi and Ian Curley, DJ Grant Smillie, and style ambassadors Nadia Bartel and Lana Wilkinson.
