Barend Vorster continued his excellent run of success with trainer Tony McEvoy with a double at Morphettville, including a feature race victory.

Vorster guided Classic Weiwei to a long neck win in the $100,000 Port Adelaide Guineas (1800m), a lead-up race towards next month’s G1 South Australian Derby (2500m). The son of Shamus Award is unbeaten from three starts this campaign, now winning three of four starts overall.

Vorster’s other winner came aboard Scottish Rogue in a Benchmark 82 handicap over 1200 metres.

It means Vorster has won 13 races from 38 rides in Australia, exclusively for McEvoy, since relocating from Singapore.

Morphettville hosted four other Stakes races with Li’l Kontra (Listed Dequetteville Stakes), Hard Empire (G3 R.N. Irwin Stakes), Mirette (G3 Auraria Stakes) and Humma Humma (Listed Redelva Stakes) winning their respective events.
